Dallas OEM (Office of Emergency Management), Dallas PD and Dallas Fire Rescue conducted a large-scale terror/firefighting exercise on an early winter Saturday morning at a client 56 story office tower.
The complicated scenario involved a stabbing, shooting, hostages, several IEDs, an explosion and fire, as well as forced breaching by SWAT personnel.
The 2 hour drill was viewed by a group of spectators who watched the entire scenario play out via CCTV cameras strategically placed on 2 floors used during the drill.
Attendees included representatives from local government and downtown property management teams.
The Massey App, situated at the Unified Command Post and used throughout by both FD and PD command personnel was hugely impactful on the response and resolution of the crisis. This drill follows other recent ones in LA, SF, Boston, Philly and Tampa. Massey's elite drill instructional team was comprised of fire chiefs and SWAT leaders from LA and Houston for this event.
