Hurricane Harvey Hits Houston

One of the biggest storms S. Texas had faced in its history created  a pressure cauldron for property management teams, struggling as the clock ticked toward the storm’s arrival and predictions grew more gloomy.

Having the Massey Emergency Management System in place helped remove a portion of that pressure, knowing building communication would be available even in a power outage as the app can send messages from mobile devices to pre-populated staff and tenant contacts.

The system was well used by clients in the region with regular communication going out to tenants, keeping them abreast of building closings and pending openings in a storm environment that strained the community’s resources.

Preparation for major events is critical and that’s one of the many strengths of the Massey Plan – a staple of CRE for 30 years – and The Massey App.    Building staff appreciate its level of detail.  The mobile tool has also been embraced by most of the country’s largest first responder agencies – providing them with critical information resources in a crisis.

Emergency event action advice covering 130 topics are combined with important reminders for preparation before the event, and support with recovery.  High-wind events, hurricane, flooding and many other related topics provided Massey clients with a complete resource at their fingertips, both in advance and for those evacuated, from their off-site locations.
