Dear Mr. Massey:
On behalf of the Los Angeles Fire Department, I would like to express our appreciation for your assistance and participation in the recent High-Rise training seminars presented to our Chief Officers and the High-Rise training exercises presented to over 300 members of the Department. As with your participation with previous high-rise training to members of the L.A.F.D., your efforts and invaluable contribution in this training assured the success of our efforts.
The information provided in your lectures regarding special considerations in high-rise structures and your overview of the “Massey Disaster Plans” was overwhelmingly recognized as an important tool for emergency responders to utilize in readily locating and operating key building features and fire protection systems. From an operational standpoint, the implementation and use of building specific disaster plans will provide emergency responders with critical building information ultimately resulting in the safety of occupants, the safety of incident personnel, and the preservation of property.
I sincerely thank you for your commitment to fire and life safety and look forward to our continued association to improve firefighter safety and provide a more thorough understanding facing our members with high-rise building challenges.
